Ambien Addiction
Those who seek treatment will find it and come to believe there is hope in "A New Day"

Ambien is a prescription strength medication that is commonly prescribed to patients suffering from insomnia. It is intended as a temporary way for people to get some rest while they are going through depression, while on other prescription drugs after a surgery or injury, or other similar circumstances. It is not intended as a long term solution for any problem, but the number of people suffering from Ambien addiction continues to grow.

The problem with Ambien is not that it is an illegal drug that everyone should avoid, but that people tend to think it is just a harmless sleeping pill. They will take it with little thought and often give it to others who are having trouble sleeping, without thinking it is a big deal or thinking of the possible Ambien side effects.

Yet, it is a very big deal in the end because Ambien addiction can happen rather quickly and can become a serious problem before anyone even realizes a real addiction has taken place. Often, the person suffering with Ambien addiction does not even realize they have a problem until something negative happens as a consequence of the pills.

Those who love someone dealing with an Ambien addiction may not even recognize the typical signs of a problem because these addicts are not your typical drug abusers. Many of them start out with a legitimate prescription from their doctor for a legitimate purpose. Most people with an Ambien addiction will function in daily life just as before with no glaring signs of trouble until Ambien side effects start to cause problems.

The addictive nature of the medication itself will often keep them dependent until they need higher and higher doses to satisfy the Ambien addiction.

One of the more unfortunate Ambien side effects reported by users is waking up without memories of things they clearly got up and did while on Ambien. For instance, some people will get out of bed and eat and in some rare cases they may actually go out in their car, essentially driving while sleeping. In the morning they have absolutely no memory of anything they did.

Sometimes, Ambien addiction can be more deliberate. It is basically a sleep medication that will make most users drowsy, but when taken in high doses Ambien side effects can cause different feelings or issues in different people. Some people will get a temporary high where they feel very outgoing and excited, until they eventually crash.

Since so many people today are falling into the Ambien addiction trap, it is becoming a popular street with addicts purchasing pills from others who have a legitimate prescription. This is no less dangerous then any other type of drug deal. The real problem rests in the mentality of those who suffer from Ambien addiction, and often those who love them. Since it is not an illegal drug like cocaine or heroine, most people feel it is nothing to worry about. Yet, the consequences of taking it for a longer period of time or at an extremely high dosage can be very serious, especially if occurrences of getting out of bed and doing things essentially unconscious happen on a regular basis.

While most of the people suffering from Ambien addiction may not be hard core drug addicts, they still need just as much help as any other addict
